Jacob Elordi is unrecognisable as Frankenstein’s monster in Guillermo del Toro’s new film, set to debut on Netflix in November 2025.
Netflix has unveiled the first official images from Frankenstein, the upcoming Guillermo del Toro film set to premiere in November 2025. The photos offer a chilling look at Jacob Elordi as Frankenstein’s monster — a far cry from his past roles and perhaps the most intense transformation of his career to date.
The gothic horror tale also stars Oscar Isaac as Victor Frankenstein, Mia Goth as Elizabeth Lavenza, and Christoph Waltz as Harlander, completing a powerful ensemble. Known for his visual artistry and dark storytelling, del Toro is set to deliver a version of Frankenstein infused with emotional depth and eerie elegance.
Speaking to Vanity Fair, makeup designer Mike Hill revealed what made Elordi the ideal choice: “It was his lankiness, the way his wrists moved, and the solemn intensity in his gaze. There’s an innocence within that 6-foot-5 frame — but he could do serious damage if he wanted to.”
With its moody aesthetic and emotionally charged performances, this adaptation is poised to become a cinematic event. Elordi’s haunting portrayal hints at a Frankenstein for a new generation: brutal, beautiful, and deeply human.
