At 22, Jenna Ortega opens up about what terrifies her most in Hollywood and how she learnt to defend her voice.

The actress, who graces the cover of Vogue México y Latinoamérica this September, has spoken candidly about the challenges of growing up under the spotlight. Known worldwide for her role in ‘Wednesday’, she recalls making her on-screen debut at the age of 10, admitting the journey hasn’t always been easy.

“Being young and assertive is intense for a lot of people, especially as a woman. I’ve always known what it’s like not to have a voice, and that terrifies me,” she confessed. Ortega explained that for a time she felt insecure on set, to the point of not daring to share her ideas.

Today, she insists she has learnt to express herself with both confidence and empathy: “I don’t want to be in that situation again. For me, it’s about using my voice in the most professional, efficient and kind way possible.”

The actress recalled a past production where she isolated herself out of fear of being judged, but now stresses that collaboration with the team is essential to achieving the best results. In this new stage, Jenna reaffirms she has no intention of letting anyone silence her authenticity.
