The fusion of passion and excitement comes to life in the new music video by Jennie and Dua Lipa.
Jennie Kim, a member of BLACKPINK, has taken a bold step in her solo career with the release of Ruby, her debut album. This 15-track project, released on March 7, 2025, showcases her artistic evolution and features high-profile collaborations with Dua Lipa, Childish Gambino, Doechii, Dominic Fike, FKJ, and Kali Uchis.
One of the most talked-about tracks from Ruby is Handlebars, a collaboration with Dua Lipa that explores the unpredictability of love. The song compares emotional surrender to losing control while riding a bicycle, with lyrics that capture the intensity of feelings and the inevitable fall. Written by Lipa, Amy Allen, James Alan Ghaleb, Rob Bisel, and Delacey, the track blends R&B and pop elements into a hypnotic experience.
The music video, directed by BRTHR, reinforces the song’s surreal concept. From the start, Jennie appears on a circular bed surrounded by flickering screens, creating a futuristic atmosphere. Dua Lipa joins through a glowing portal, and together they journey through a visually striking setting: an electrified heart-shaped web symbolizing love’s entanglement.
This isn’t the first collaboration between the two artists. In 2017, BLACKPINK and Dua Lipa teamed up for Kiss and Make Up, a bilingual track that solidified their connection. Now, Handlebars showcases their musical and visual growth.
