Jennifer Lawrence captivated Paris wearing a Dior trench coat that revealed a surprising couture detail inspired by Christian Dior’s 1948 Delft dress.
Jennifer Lawrence reaffirmed her bond with Dior through a style choice that drew all eyes during Jonathan Anderson’s debut at the helm of the house’s womenswear in Paris. The actress, a long-time ambassador of the French maison since 2012, opted for a seemingly relaxed look that concealed an unexpected and historically charged detail.
With wide-cut grey trousers, an untucked Oxford shirt and a black preppy waistcoat, Lawrence completed her outfit with a khaki trench coat that at first glance appeared to be a seasonal staple. However, the piece carried a sophisticated twist: sculptural pleats at the back, directly inspired by the iconic Delft dress created by Christian Dior in 1948. A direct nod to the heritage of the maison, reimagined with modern boldness.

This design element had already been explored by Anderson in his menswear debut last June, where he applied the technique to oversized cargo shorts that became a standout trend of the season. Now, in his spring 2026 collection, the designer sought to create a “dialogue between past and present”, and Lawrence effortlessly embodied that vision in her own styling.
She finished the look with accessories that define her everyday style: a burgundy clutch, aviator glasses and black Mary Jane flats. In doing so, the actress turned an autumn classic into a couture-inspired fashion statement, once again solidifying her role as a contemporary muse for Dior.
