Joey King is gearing up to unleash her powers in ‘Practical Magic 2’, the eagerly awaited sequel to the cult classic starring Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock. The actress is currently in talks to join the cast, where she would portray one of Sally Owens’s daughters—reopening the family spell that defined an entire generation.
Magic is returning to the big screen: Joey King is in advanced negotiations to star in ‘Practical Magic 2’ alongside Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock, according to Just Jared. The 25-year-old actress, known for her roles in ‘The Kissing Booth’ and ‘The Act’, will be reuniting with Kidman after appearing together in Netflix’s romantic comedy ‘A Family Affair’ (2024).
As we confirmed last year, Nicole Kidman had already announced her return to the franchise—a piece of news that thrilled fans of the 1998 cult hit. In the original film, Bullock and Kidman played sisters Sally and Gillian Owens, two witches battling a family curse that threatens the lives of the men they love.
In this new instalment, Joey King is set to portray one of Sally’s now-adult daughters, who, upon uncovering dark family secrets and her own magical powers, will trigger a fresh magical crisis.
Filming is scheduled to begin in summer 2025 in London, and a first teaser trailer with the official release date has recently been unveiled. All signs suggest that ‘Practical Magic 2’ will be one of the major cinematic events of the year.
