The highly anticipated film hits theaters on March 28.

Johnny Depp has returned to directing with his new project, ‘Modigliani, Three Days in Montparnasse’. The film takes us to the bohemian Paris of 1916 to follow the intense story of painter Amedeo Modigliani during 72 pivotal hours of his life.

The plot focuses on the artist’s struggle to find his place in the art world while facing both personal and professional conflicts. Surrounded by friends such as Maurice Utrillo, Chaim Soutine, and his muse Beatrice Hastings, Modigliani wrestles with the decision to abandon his career or embrace an unexpected opportunity that could change his fate.

Italian actor Riccardo Scamarcio portrays the painter in this production, which also features Stephen Graham, Antonia Desplat, and the legendary Al Pacino. According to Depp, the film not only pays tribute to one of his favorite artists but also reflects his own vision of the tension between creativity and the entertainment industry.

This marks Depp’s second directorial effort after ‘The Brave‘, and this time, he has opted for a free and spontaneous approach, giving actors the space to deeply explore their characters. Scamarcio described the experience as “one of the most enriching” of his career, praising Depp’s trust in his team.

Inspired by Modigliani’s passion and his refusal to compromise his art, ‘Modigliani, Three Days in Montparnasse‘ promises to be a vibrant and moving look into the life of one of the great geniuses of painting.
