Jonathan Bailey, Before Becoming Lord Bridgerton, Surprised Fans with His Performance on Disney Channel’s Groove High.

Fans have uncovered Jonathan Bailey’s days on Disney before his rise to fame in Bridgerton. A clip of the actor in the musical comedy Groove High has gone viral on X (formerly Twitter), showcasing a very different performance from that of the dashing Lord Anthony Bridgerton.

Aired on Disney Channel U.K. between 2012 and 2013, this live-action and animated series followed two pop stars on tour, Tom (played by Bailey) and Zoe (Samantha Barks), who reminisce about their time at an elite performing arts school.

Bailey’s role in the short-lived Disney show has surprised many Bridgerton fans. “How did I not know it was Jonathan Bailey all this time?!” commented one user on X. Another wrote, “OMG, I never knew this existed! I would have had such a crush on him back then (I still do, obviously).”

Jonathan Bailey’s résumé includes a long list of TV credits before Bridgerton, such as Broadchurch, Doctor Who, Chewing Gum, and Jack Ryan. Following his rise to fame in Bridgerton, he has starred in Fellow Travelers and will play Fiyero in Wicked. He has also confirmed a role in the new Jurassic World sequel.
