Following the cancellation of ‘And Just Like That…’, Kim Cattrall posted a cryptic message that many have interpreted as a veiled remark.
The story between Kim Cattrall and the ‘Sex and the City‘ universe seems to have come full circle in the most symbolic way. On 1 August, it was officially confirmed that ‘And Just Like That…‘ will not return after its third season, which is still airing on HBO Max. Just hours after the announcement, Cattrall shared an Instagram post that didn’t go unnoticed: a sunset photo with a telling caption.
“It’s the end of a very long week ❤️💋,” the actress wrote, without mentioning the series or her former co-stars. Still, the timing and tone struck a chord that many found too pointed to be mere coincidence.
Cattrall, 68 and a Golden Globe winner, portrayed the iconic Samantha Jones in the original series and two films, but opted out of the TV sequel. In 2017, she openly stated she was never friends with her co-stars and described the working environment as “toxic”. Her brief return in a season two cameo was filmed separately, without sharing the set with any of the leading actresses.
Far from a reconciliation, Kim’s gesture seems to mark the closing of a chapter the public has never stopped discussing. And while ‘And Just Like That…‘ failed to fill the void left by her absence, she needed only one line and a sunset to remind us why Samantha will forever be the queen of Manhattan.
