Linda Evangelista will be honored with the Vanguard Award at the 2024 Canada Arts and Fashion Awards.

Linda Evangelista will be honored with the Vanguard Award at the 2024 Canada Arts and Fashion Awards (CAFA), taking place on October 19 in Toronto. Recognized as one of the original supermodels, Evangelista has been an icon in the fashion industry, with over 700 magazine covers to her name and runway appearances for the world’s most renowned designers. In addition to her career, she has used her platform to support causes such as breast cancer, HIV/AIDS, racial equality, and LGBTQIA+ rights.

The ceremony will also recognize Ben Barry, Dean of Fashion at Parsons School of Design, and the co-founders of Revolutionnaire, Justice and Nia Faith, who will receive the Changemaker Award for their positive impact on fashion and social inclusion. Canadian brand Roots will be honored with the Outstanding Achievement Award for its contribution to Canadian craftsmanship and heritage for over 50 years.

Evangelista expressed her excitement about receiving the award, highlighting how special it is to be recognized in her home country. The CAFA gala has become a key event for celebrating innovation and talent in Canadian fashion.
