Lisa made her first appearance at the Met Gala in a shimmering bodysuit, but her look lacked depth, narrative, and visual daring.

For her Met Gala debut, Blackpink’s Lisa opted for a sophisticated take on the no-pants trend, wearing an iridescent bodysuit paired with a sharply tailored blazer. The singer adhered to the evening’s theme, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, with a modern silhouette—but her outfit landed halfway. The Louis Vuitton bag was an uninspired choice that added little character to the ensemble.

Though polished, the overall presentation called for more: more blues, more soul, more story. Accessories like a top hat or a cigarette holder could have served as elegant nods to the theme’s African-American heritage, bringing a theatrical and evocative edge her look didn’t quite achieve.

Still, Lisa is experiencing a blazing 2025: following her solo debut at Coachella, she released her album Alter Ego and appeared in The White Lotus. In just a few months, she’ll return to the stage alongside Rosé, Jennie and Jisoo.

“I’m proud of Blackpink. It’s not just for the fans—it’s for ourselves,” she told the press. A brilliant present, with room yet to take greater risks.
