Louis Vuitton increases prices in the US following new tariffs, reinforcing its brand power in the luxury market.
The renowned luxury brand Louis Vuitton has raised the prices of its handbags in the United States, with average increases of 4% on its official website. This move comes in response to the Trump administration’s implementation of new 10% tariffs on products imported from the European Union.
According to analysts from Barclays and Bernstein, some models, such as the NeoNoe, saw increases of up to 7%, while others, like the Twist and the Keepall, experienced more moderate rises of around 1%. These adjustments aim to offset the impact of the tariffs without compromising the brand’s appeal.
International markets also saw price hikes: 3% in Japan and 2% in France. However, certain lines, such as the CarryAll and Graceful, maintained their prices, likely due to their production in the United States, where the brand operates factories in Texas and California.
Experts note that despite the increase, demand for Louis Vuitton is expected to remain strong thanks to its powerful brand identity. Furthermore, they predict that luxury price inflation will stay within the historical range of 5 to 7%. Other brands, such as Hermès, have also announced similar adjustments in response to the tariffs.
