Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi will star in the film adaptation of Wuthering Heights, directed by Oscar-winner Emerald Fennell.

Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi have been cast to star in the upcoming adaptation of the classic novel Wuthering Heights, written by Emily Brontë. This project, developed by MRC and LuckyChap, brings together two renowned stars and marks the third collaboration between LuckyChap and director Emerald Fennell.

The film will be a new take on Brontë’s iconic romance, following LuckyChap’s success with the dark comedy Saltburn and Promising Young Woman, which earned Fennell an Oscar. Robbie will portray Catherine Earnshaw, while Elordi will take on the role of Heathcliff. Fennell, in addition to writing the screenplay, will also produce and direct the film, with shooting set to begin in the UK in 2025.

The original novel, published in 1850, tells the story of two families, the Earnshaws and the Lintons, and the complex relationship they have with Heathcliff, the Earnshaws’ adopted son. While specific plot details have not yet been revealed, Deadline has confirmed Elordi and Fennell’s involvement following their recent collaboration on Saltburn. LuckyChap has achieved global success, not only with Saltburn but also with Barbie.
