A bold vision that transforms recycled coins, antique watches, and other elements into haute couture pieces.
Marine Serre returned to the runway with a collection that challenges convention, choosing La Monnaie de Paris as the setting for her Autumn/Winter 2025 show. This historic venue, where France’s currency is minted, served as a powerful symbol of her stance against the industry’s financial dominance and rigid structures.
Guests were welcomed with a carefully curated set design, featuring custom gold coins engraved with Serre’s profile on one side and her signature crescent moon emblem on the other. This striking detail set the tone for the collection—an exploration of freedom, evolution, and resilience, marking seven years of the designer’s creative journey.

The show opened with a form-fitting black catsuit, inspired by Irma Vep, one of cinema’s first heroines. Crafted from moon-print leather, the monochrome look struck a balance between sophistication and defiance, setting the stage for what was to come. Sharp silhouettes, cinched waists, and an exclusive jewellery selection reinforced the fusion of sensuality and strength.
As the show progressed, the runway was filled with veiled faces, repurposed leather dresses, and lingerie-inspired ensembles. However, the undisputed highlight came in the form of ten haute couture looks, crafted from antique coins, medals, vintage watches, and reclaimed furs. Among them, a mini dress made entirely of antique watches stood out—a piece destined to be remembered as a defining moment in fashion.

Centred around the themes of passion and power, the collection remained within a palette of black, white, and silver, punctuated by bold flashes of deep red in mesh and satin fabrics. Drawing inspiration from the iconic Red Room in ‘Twin Peaks‘, Serre’s vision blurred the boundaries between reality and fiction, cementing her reputation as one of the most innovative designers of her generation.
