Mario Arena, with extensive experience in luxury design, takes on the role of Creative Director at JW Anderson to lead the brand into a new era.
Joseph has announced Mario Arena as its new Creative Director, marking an exciting chapter in the history of the London-based brand. With an impressive career spanning over 30 years in the luxury industry, Arena joins directly from the JW Anderson studio, where he led prêt-à-porter and accessories design. His first collection for Joseph will debut in Spring 2026.
Arena highlighted the influence of the brand’s founder, Joseph Ettedgui, describing him as a “visionary” whose outlook continues to inspire. The designer plans to revitalize Joseph’s timeless codes with a bold and modern approach.
Known for its luxury wardrobe essentials like cashmere sweaters and tailored suits, the brand returns to London after operating in Paris. Arena will work from the new design department located at Joseph’s headquarters in the southwest of the city.
This appointment underscores Joseph’s commitment to innovation in contemporary luxury. CEO Barbara Campos described Arena as an “exceptional creative” who will steer the brand through this new phase.
Arena succeeds the duo Anna and Frederik Dyhr and joins the list of creative leaders who have emerged from the influential JW Anderson studio.
