Megan Fox and her ex, Brian Austin Green, are defending their parenting style after a former conservative political candidate claimed that Fox “forced” her children to wear “girl clothes”.

Earlier this week, Robby Starbuck, who ran for Congress and lost, went viral with extravagant claims about Fox and her three young children: 10-year-old Noah, 9-year-old Bodhi, and 6-year-old Journey. In his tweet, Starbuck claimed that he “used to live in the same gated community” as Fox and her three children, and stated that he “saw 2 of them have a complete breakdown saying their mom forced them to wear girl clothes.” He added, “It’s clear child abuse. Pray for them.”

Megan Fox wasted no time in defending herself and her children after Starbuck’s tweet went viral, and she posted an extensive response on Instagram to the failed congressman’s claims.

“I don’t want to give you this attention because you’re clearly seeking fame, but let me school you,” Fox wrote in a caption below a screenshot of Starbuck’s tweet. “Exploiting my child’s gender identity to get attention for your political campaign has put you on the wrong side of the universe.”

She continued, “I have been burned at the stake by insecure, narcissistic, and impotent men like you many times and yet, I’m still here… you messed with the wrong witch.”

While Fox is quite private about her children and keeps them mostly off social media, she has been open in the past about her eldest son, Noah, choosing to wear girl clothes. In an interview with Glamour last year, Fox said Noah started wearing dresses when he was 2 years old.

“I’ve read a lot of books that have helped me teach him and figure out how to navigate through it,” Fox said at the time about Noah’s choice. “Some of them are written by transgender kids, and some are just about how you can be a boy and wear dresses; you can express yourself however you want through your clothing.”

Fox added that she made sure “nobody feels like an outsider, weird, or different. She also said, “I can’t control what someone else thinks about my kids.”

The former actor and father of their three children, Brian Austin Green, also defended Fox against Starbuck’s comments, calling him “a complete liar.”

“It’s a complete fabrication,” Green told TMZ. “This person trying to paint this picture that it’s true is a perfect example of someone with selfish motives who has no concern for the negative impact on the relationship between parent and child.”
