The Duchess shared unseen images from their California family getaway surrounded by Disney princesses and Star Wars characters.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry once again revealed one of their most personal and family-focused sides with an unexpected trip to Disneyland California alongside their children, Archie and Lilibet. The Duchess of Sussex shared several images from the visit on social media, showing the family enjoying rides and meeting iconic characters from the Disney universe.
Among the most talked-about photos was the emotional moment in which Lilibet hugged Cinderella, as well as another encounter with Princess Aurora, better known as Sleeping Beauty. The images reinforced the couple’s more relaxed and everyday public image, far removed from the royal protocol that shaped much of their lives for years.
The visit also included references to the Star Wars universe, as Meghan Markle posted snapshots with Darth Vader and several Stormtroopers, a detail that quickly caught the attention of royal watchers and Disney fans alike.
The getaway comes just days after Archie’s birthday, with the young royal recently turning seven. In the coming weeks, the family will also celebrate Lilibet’s birthday, as she turns five on 4 June.
It is not the first time the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have visited Disneyland with their children. The previous year, the family was also seen enjoying the theme park, where Archie met characters from Frozen and explored attractions inspired by Disney’s galactic universe.
Since officially stepping back from the British royal family, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have focused on building a much more family-oriented public image, prioritising their children’s privacy while balancing personal projects, charitable initiatives and selective media appearances.
