Pop icon Miley Cyrus makes fashion history as the first celebrity to front a Maison Margiela campaign for Autumn/Winter 2025.
Maison Margiela has broken with decades of tradition by choosing Miley Cyrus as the inaugural celebrity face of one of its campaigns. Under the title ‘Maison Margiela Girl’, the Autumn/Winter 2025 project represents a historic turning point for the French house, founded in 1988 by Martin Margiela and long known for its devotion to anonymity and collective creation.

The global pop star, actress and symbol of artistic reinvention appears almost unrecognisable in the striking campaign images shot by Paolo Roversi. With her face veiled in light and white paint, Cyrus models key looks from the collection alongside the brand’s iconic Tabi boots, evoking the painterly spirit of the Renaissance and the distinctive white-overpainted technique that Margiela introduced in 1989.
Reflecting on the collaboration, Cyrus admitted: “Posing nude for a fashion campaign was huge; I was wearing only body paint and the iconic Tabi boots. In that moment, Margiela and I became one.”

This bold choice not only underscores Miley Cyrus’s ability to reinvent herself as a cultural force, but also signals Sarah Burton’s vision for a woman-centred era at Givenchy’s sister house. By placing individuality and enigma at the heart of its new chapter, Maison Margiela reaffirms its commitment to reshaping contemporary fashion.
