Dior presents ‘Stories of a Miss‘ in Shanghai, an immersive exhibition celebrating the artistic and olfactory legacy of Miss Dior.

The House of Dior is unveiling a new exhibition dedicated to its iconic fragrance, Miss Dior, opening in Shanghai on 13 September. Following the resounding success of L’Or de J’Adore in Beijing, the French maison now brings its artistic and olfactory heritage to the cultural heart of China with a multisensory experience set to be one of the most anticipated luxury and fashion events of the year.

The exhibition, titled Stories of a Miss, will be held at the Fosun Foundation of Art in Shanghai until 8 October. Designed as an immersive journey through the world of Miss Dior, the show pays tribute to the first fragrance created by Christian Dior in 1947 – a symbol of the rebirth of feminine elegance after the war and a hallmark of the brand’s creative spirit.

The journey begins outside the museum with a monumental sculpture inspired by the iconic 1952 Bobby bottle, designed in honour of Dior’s beloved dog. From there, visitors will explore two floors of installations where contemporary art, haute couture and sensory design intertwine, all guided by the signature bow adorning the Miss Dior bottle.

Curated by the prestigious studio OMA New York, the exhibition brings together works by both international and Chinese artists, creating a dialogue between perfume, art and fashion. Featured artists include Eva Jospin – renowned for her textile gardens created for Dior’s haute couture shows – as well as René Gruau, Mats Gustafson, Haruka Kojin, Judy Chicago, Sabine Marcelis, Ingrid Donat, and six leading contemporary Chinese artists.

Miss Dior is not just a fragrance; it is a statement of style and artistic sensibility. In the words of Véronique Courtois, President and CEO of Parfums Dior, the exhibition reflects “the enduring bond between Dior and China” and serves as an invitation to rediscover “the spirit, creativity and emotion that define Miss Dior.”

The showcase will also feature haute couture gowns worn by Natalie Portman, Miss Dior’s ambassador since 2011, alongside exclusive pieces highlighting the maison’s close ties to the global contemporary art scene.

After its debut at the Grand Palais in Paris in 2013 and a recent stop in Tokyo in June 2024, the exhibition lands in Shanghai as a celebration of Dior’s 21st-century legacy and its ongoing dialogue with Chinese culture.

For those seeking a unique experience that blends luxury, history, art and sensory exploration, Stories of a Miss is set to be an unmissable event this autumn in Shanghai.
