Netflix is launching a new version of Pride and Prejudice with Emma Corrin and Jack Lowden leading the cast in this much-anticipated adaptation.

The streaming giant has announced a new television adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, the classic novel by Jane Austen, featuring a star-studded cast with Emma Corrin as Elizabeth Bennet and Jack Lowden as Mr Darcy. Olivia Colman also joins the ensemble as the eccentric Mrs Bennet. The six-part series is set to begin filming in the UK in late 2025.

The script will be penned by Dolly Alderton, acclaimed for her bestselling memoir Everything I Know About Love, who will also serve as an executive producer. Directing the series is Euros Lyn, known for his work on Heartstopper. This version promises to remain faithful to Austen’s original spirit, retaining its historical tone while offering a narrative that feels accessible to modern audiences.

Corrin, excited about their new role, described playing Elizabeth as “a tremendous privilege.” This production also marks their debut as an executive producer. Backed by the British studio Lookout Point and supported by Netflix, this reimagining aims to captivate both Austen enthusiasts and new viewers alike. Expectations are high for this ambitious and refreshing take on a literary classic.
