Bong Joon Ho’s upcoming sci-fi adventure, Mickey 17, promises a blend of action and existential reflection starring Robert Pattinson in an intriguing and unique role
Bong Joon Ho‘s highly anticipated sci-fi project , Mickey 17, starring Robert Pattinson, Steven Yeun and Mark Ruffalo, has changed its release date. Originally scheduled for January 31, 2025, Warner Bros. has decided to move the release to April 18, 2025.
This change is due to the rescheduling of the Michael Jackson biopic, titled Michael and directed by Antoine Fuqua, which will occupy the January date. A Warner Bros. spokesperson commented, “When it was released on April 18, we took the opportunity to secure it for Mickey 17. We are excited about the date change and that the film will be available to audiences in IMAX during the Easter season.”
Set in the 2022 novel Mickey7 by Edward Ashton, Mickey 17 introduces Pattinson as Mickey Barnes, an “expendable” human tasked with risking his life on dangerous missions to colonize an icy planet. The plot revolves around his clone’s ability to replace him whenever he dies, retaining much of his memories. In addition to an impressive cast that includes Naomi Ackie and Toni Collett, this ambitious sci-fi film promises to captivate audiences. The date is April 18, 2025. Don’t miss it!
