Prada and National Geographic have teamed up to promote ocean conservation through the documentary series on the Re-Nylon collection.

Prada continues its commitment to sustainability through its collaboration with National Geographic CreativeWorks, exploring the origins of its Re-Nylon line. This initiative, which is part of the SEA BEYOND programme, aims to raise awareness about ocean conservation and the reduction of plastic waste. Since 2019, the Prada Group has worked alongside the UNESCO Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission, raising awareness about the importance of preserving the seas.

Prada’s Re-Nylon collection is made from recycled plastics, sourced from both the oceans and landfills. This action is part of the brand’s ongoing effort to create products without relying on new resources, thus promoting a circular economy. With each purchase from the collection, 1% of the profits go towards funding the SEA BEYOND programme, which seeks to educate and mobilise future generations around environmental protection.

The documentary series, starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Sadie Sink, takes viewers on a journey to explore the richness and challenges of marine ecosystems. The documentaries, which delve into the impacts of climate change and pollution, feature a call to action for a more sustainable future, inviting reflection on the urgent need to protect our oceans.
