Sarah Burton has been appointed the new creative director of Givenchy, leading the historic maison after her career at Alexander McQueen.

Sarah Burton has been officially named the new creative director of Givenchy. The renowned French brand, owned by LVMH, has chosen the British designer as the eighth person to hold this position.

Before joining Givenchy, Burton had an outstanding career at Alexander McQueen, where she spent her entire professional journey. Now, she is set to become the second woman to lead the French maison. She is expected to present her first collection for Givenchy during Paris Fashion Week in March 2025. Sidney Toledano, chairman of the Givenchy board, commented: “Sarah Burton is an exceptional creative talent whose career I have followed with passion for many years. I am thrilled that she is joining Givenchy today. Her unique vision and approach to fashion will be invaluable to this iconic house.”

For her part, Burton expressed: “It is a great honor to join the beautiful house of Givenchy. I am excited to write the next chapter of this iconic maison and to bring my own vision and beliefs.” Furthermore, Burton will design collections for both women and men, continuing her impressive career in haute couture.
