Kelly Rowland Stars in a Tense Moment on the Cannes Red Carpet, Apparently Confronting an Assistant

Renowned singer Kelly Rowland starred in a tense moment on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet last Tuesday night during the premiere of the film ‘Marcello Mio,’ which is competing in the festival. As she moved along the carpet, posing for photographers, a festival assistant indicated that she should begin ascending the steps of the Palais des Festivals.

In a video of the event, Rowland can be seen being guided by a group of assistants dressed in black, who escorted her to the right side of the staircase. When Rowland turned to greet someone in the crowd, two more assistants appeared behind her, blocking her view and urging her to move up.

One of the assistants, a woman in a black suit, kept her arm extended very close to Rowland’s back, to which the singer responded by gently touching her arm with a smile, as if indicating that it wasn’t necessary. However, the assistant maintained her position, prompting Rowland to turn around again and seemingly admonish her. Once inside the Palais, the same assistant attempted the same maneuver with one of Rowland’s companions.

The festival is known for its strict red carpet policies, including a dress code that previously banned women without heels and a prohibition on selfies since 2018 to streamline the flow of guests. A Cannes spokesperson declined to comment on the incident, and Rowland’s representatives did not respond in time for comment.
