Serge Brunschwig has unexpectedly left Jil Sander and the OTB Group just six months after being appointed CEO of the brand.

The luxury sector was shaken by the surprise departure of Brunschwig, who not only exits his role as CEO of Jil Sander but also steps down as Chief Strategy Officer of its parent company, OTB.

His appointment in February had sparked high expectations, following a distinguished career leading Fendi, Dior Homme, and Celine. However, 31 July marked his final day in the role, as he announced on LinkedIn, thanking the team and the OTB Group for their trust.

Jil Sander has confirmed that his departure is due to personal reasons. Ubaldo Minelli, CEO of OTB, will take over his duties on an interim basis. The news comes at a pivotal moment for the brand: September will see the debut collection of Simone Bellotti, Jil Sander’s new creative director following his exit from Bally.

Known for his discreet and strategic profile, Brunschwig had been brought in to strengthen the brand’s global positioning. His early departure raises questions about the direction Jil Sander will now take in the fiercely competitive luxury market.
