Japanese label Soshiotsuki debuts its first collaboration with ZARA in a collection that introduces, for the very first time, womenswear and childrenswear lines.

The Japanese house Soshiotsuki, founded by designer Soshi Otsuki, has joined forces with ZARA to present its first global collaboration under the title ‘A Sense of Togetherness’. The collection, available from 4 December, offers a narrative centred on family bonds and cross-generational dressing, while introducing the brand’s first womenswear and childrenswear offerings.

The proposal draws on the Japanese concept baburu keiki, the economic boom of the 1980s in Japan, when Italian tailoring had a defining influence on the country’s menswear. Brands such as Giorgio Armani shaped an era in which Italian elegance was reinterpreted through a Japanese sensibility—a fusion that Soshiotsuki now revisits with the idea of “Made in Japan filtered through Made in Italy”.

The result is a refined balance between Western sartorial tradition and contemporary aesthetics. The collection reimagines classic garments such as blazers and shirts, incorporating fastenings inspired by traditional Japanese dressing techniques, while also engaging with utilitarian pieces like overshirts and cargo trousers. For winter, the lineup expands with thermal layers, knitwear and cardigans that bring a cosy feel without losing the polished character of the design.

The womenswear debut reinterprets tailoring through a fluid lens: soft lines, relaxed proportions and silhouettes that blend vintage elegance with a modern reading of suiting. This approach places women—and for the first time, children—within the brand’s visual narrative, broadening the reach of its creative universe.

According to Soshi Otsuki, the key was “to use formal materials for casual garments and to carefully maintain the balance between tailoring and construction”. The designer highlights that the collaboration with ZARA has made it possible “to expand Soshiotsuki’s expressive language into territories that would not have been feasible independently”.

This collaboration arrives at a pivotal moment for the label, which this year received the LVMH Prize 2025 and was named guest designer at Pitti Uomo 109, further cementing its growing influence on the international stage.

The Soshiotsuki x ZARA collection ‘A Sense of Togetherness’ will be available from 4 December through ZARA Japan, marking a new chapter in the brand’s global expansion.
