FX confirms that ‘The Bear’ will come to an end with a fifth season set to premiere in June 2026.
- The acclaimed series starring Jeremy Allen White will officially conclude with a final chapter centred on the future of the restaurant.
The kitchen of The Bear is preparing to close for good. FX has confirmed that the series will end with its fifth season, which is set to premiere on 25 June. Staying true to the show’s usual release format, all eight episodes will be available from day one on Hulu — and internationally through Disney+ — allowing audiences to binge-watch the final instalment.
The last season will pick up immediately after one of the show’s biggest turning points: Carmy, played by Jeremy Allen White, leaves the restaurant industry and places the future of the restaurant in the hands of Sydney, Richie and Natalie.
From there, the restaurant enters a new stage shaped by extreme pressure. With no money, the threat of a sale looming and a storm making everything even more difficult, the team must come together to deliver one final service with a clear objective: finally earning a Michelin star.
According to the official synopsis, the season will also explore one of the central questions that has always run through the series: what perfection inside a restaurant truly means. And the answer, apparently, will have less to do with food than with the people holding everything together.
The announcement arrives just one day after the surprise release of ‘Gary’, a special episode focused on the past of Richie and Mikey, played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Jon Bernthal. The episode, already available on Hulu and Disney+, acts as a complementary emotional chapter within the series’ universe.
Since its debut in 2022, ‘The Bear’ quickly became one of television’s biggest recent phenomena. What initially appeared to be a relatively low-profile production evolved into a global success thanks to word of mouth, the intensity of its storytelling and its chaotic — yet deeply human — portrayal of the restaurant industry.
The first season dominated the Emmy Awards with ten wins, including Outstanding Comedy Series, while also cementing Jeremy Allen White as one of the defining television actors of his generation. The second season continued that momentum with eleven awards, while the third, despite receiving thirteen nominations, ultimately left empty-handed.
The main cast also includes Ayo Edebiri, Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Matty Matheson and Edwin Lee Gibson, alongside recurring appearances from figures such as Jamie Lee Curtis, Olivia Colman, Sarah Paulson, Bob Odenkirk and Will Poulter.
With this fifth and final season, ‘The Bear’ will bring to a close one of the most influential and talked-about series of recent years, leaving behind a story that reshaped the way contemporary television portrays anxiety, ambition and human connection within everyday chaos.
