The Spanish company, owner of brands such as Carolina Herrera and Purificación García, expands its portfolio with the acquisition of the French luxury brand Christian Lacroix.

The Galician enterprise Sociedad Textil Lonia has announced its acquisition of 100% of the luxury house Christian Lacroix, an icon of 1980s and 1990s fashion. The French brand was previously owned by the Falic Group, which also owns the U.S.-based retail company Duty Free Americas. With this transaction, details of which remain scarce, the Orense-based textile group strengthens its presence in the world of haute couture, adding Christian Lacroix to Carolina Herrera and Purificación García, the two brands it already owns.

According to STL, Christian Lacroix creates designs full of exuberance and imagination, blending his Provençal roots with his passion for Spanish culture, reflecting his love for haute couture, theatricality, and craftsmanship. The Galician firm has expressed great enthusiasm for this new project, highlighting the strong connection they share with Lacroix’s artisanal and creative philosophy, as well as their excitement about bringing his magical vision into their group. They also stated their aim to help the luxury brand reach its full potential.

Christian Lacroix himself has commented on the sale and expressed his approval of the acquisition. “The Spanish family that owns STL had the elegance to contact me before the official announcement of the acquisition of the Christian Lacroix name and archives. We will likely meet informally soon,” he explained.
