The new trailer for ‘The Running Man’ reveals a dystopian future where television turns violence into spectacle. In cinemas from 14 November.

The trailer for the new remake of ‘The Running Man’ has just been released, offering a modern, brutal and fast-paced take on the classic dystopian story. Starring Glen Powell and Josh Brolin, the film is set to become one of the year’s most gripping thrillers when it hits cinemas on 14 November.

The story unfolds in a near future ruled by televised violence. In this world, ‘The Running Man’ is the most-watched show on the planet — a ruthless survival contest where participants, known as Runners, must stay alive for 30 days while being hunted by professional killers. Every second of the chase is broadcast live to an audience addicted to spectacle and the suffering of others.

Powell plays Ben Richards, a working-class man desperate to save his sick daughter, who accepts an offer to join the show from its charismatic yet merciless producer, Dan Killian (Brolin). What begins as a fight for survival quickly turns into a rebellion on screen: Richards becomes a media phenomenon and a threat to the very system that exploits him for entertainment.

Based on the novel by Stephen King and the original 1987 film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, this new version — directed by Edgar Wright — also features Colman Domingo, Jayme Lawson, Lee Pace, Katy O’Brian, Karl Glusman, and Michael Cera. With a futuristic aesthetic and relentless pace, the new ‘The Running Man’ promises to expose the dark limits of a society obsessed with watching.
