An unexpected collection brings together Lay’s and Saucony, turning China’s most iconic flavours into exclusive trainers that elevate today’s streetwear culture.
Lay’s and Saucony have joined forces to launch an exclusive collection that fuses urban fashion with gastronomic culture in the Chinese market. The collaboration introduces a capsule of three trainers that reinterpret the country’s most iconic flavours through design, becoming one of the most original proposals within food-fashion collaborations. This limited series stands out not only for its precise use of textures and colours, but also for the way it integrates the aesthetic of popular snacks into streetwear pieces ready for collectors.
The Cohesion 2K model draws inspiration from the seaweed flavour, building a fresh silhouette through layers of green tones over grey mesh and suede, achieving a balance that instantly evokes the snack’s visual identity. Meanwhile, the Grid Fusion pays tribute to the spicy crayfish, one of China’s most popular late-night dishes, featuring a blend of deep browns, rich mesh panels and beige accents that replicate the dish’s spicy and artisanal character. The most striking proposal comes with the Trainer 80X, designed entirely in the unmistakable yellow of the classic Lay’s packet, with leather and suede overlays contrasting against a rubber sole.

Each pair incorporates personalised details such as exclusive tongue logos, co-branded dubraes, and potato-chip-bag-shaped hangtags, all presented in specially designed boxes. Conceived as a direct homage to China’s vibrant snack culture, the collaboration is sold exclusively in the local market — turning these trainers into coveted pieces for international collectors, who will need to rely on resale to secure a pair.
