Viktor & Rolf present their first exhibition in the USA, Fashion Statements, at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta.

Dutch designers Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren will bring their work to the United States for the first time with the exhibition Viktor & Rolf. Fashion Statements, which will open on October 10 at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. The exhibition, curated by Thierry-Maxime Loriot, will feature over 100 designs that have marked the iconic haute couture brand’s journey.

The exhibition is divided into nine thematic chapters that explore the evolution of the designers and their impact on fashion. In addition to their most iconic garments, visitors will be able to see their ‘dolls in progress’, porcelain figures dressed in miniature versions of their creations. There will also be animated projections created by Rodeo FX, known for their work on Stranger Things and Blade Runner 2049.

“We want people to feel inspired, reflect, and expand their perspective on fashion,” commented Horsting. Loriot, for his part, defended the importance of showcasing fashion in a museum: “The work of Viktor & Rolf is not about trends, but pure creativity.”

With this exhibition, the designers hope to bring their art closer to the American public and demonstrate that fashion is much more than clothing: it is a form of artistic expression.
