Zac Efron was hospitalized after an incident in a pool in Ibiza, but he assures fans he is ‘happy and healthy.’

Zac Efron spoke out after being taken to the hospital in Spain following a ‘pool incident’ at a villa in Ibiza on Friday night.

The 36-year-old ‘High School Musical’ actor took to his Instagram Stories on Sunday to share a photo of himself working out shirtless, lifting weights while lying on an exercise ball.

“Happy and healthy, thanks for the well wishes,” the muscular matinee idol captioned the post. The star’s message comes after sources revealed to TMZ that the actor was “found inside the pool by two people working at the villa, who pulled him out of the water.”

His representative confirmed to the outlet that Efron was hospitalized “as a precaution” after the “minor incident” and that he is “recovering well.”

He was discharged from the hospital on Saturday morning. DailyMail.com has attempted to contact the former teen idol’s representative for comments. Efron’s representative was asked why he needed to be hospitalized if the issue was only minor. In response, the representative did not disclose why Efron needed to be pulled from the pool but reiterated that the hospital visit was purely a precaution.

Before the incident, he joined Dutch DJ Martin Garrix on stage during one of his shows. The former Disney Channel star has been spending time in Ibiza and Europe over the past few weeks. Two weeks ago, he spent an afternoon on a yacht with friends in Ibiza after a recent getaway to St. Tropez earlier this month.
