KQ Entertainment avoids clarifying rumours linking ATEEZ’s Hongjoong’s lyrics with indirect references to Bang Si Hyuk.

KQ Entertainment has officially denied providing comments on the speculation surrounding Hongjoong‘s recent lyrics.

On January 15, the agency told TV Report: “We have no comments to offer,” when asked about rumours suggesting that Hongjoong, a member of ATEEZ, made indirect references to Bang Si Hyuk, president of HYBE Labels, in his musical collaboration with American rapper Odetari titled ‘SMB’.

The debate emerged following the release of the track, in which Hongjoong mentions phrases like “You think you made it, hitman” and “Watch your back / Du-du-du, Bang,” which some interpreted as direct allusions to Bang, also known as Hitman Bang.

Although these references raised suspicions on social media, no intention behind the lyrics has been confirmed so far. Meanwhile, it is speculated that the controversial ‘Weekly Music Industry Reports’, leaked from HYBE last year, did not include any mention of ATEEZ.

The topic continues to spark conversations among fans and the industry, while KQ chooses to stay out of it.
