Aaron Sorkin is preparing a sequel to ‘The Social Network’ and is already in talks with Jeremy Allen White and Mikey Madison for the leading roles.
Mikey Madison and Jeremy Allen White may be set to lead the cast of the highly anticipated sequel to ‘The Social Network’, the film that defined a generation by portraying the origins of Facebook and the complex figure of Mark Zuckerberg. According to The Hollywood Reporter, both actors are among Aaron Sorkin’s top choices. Sorkin is not only returning as screenwriter but will also direct the project this time.
Although no formal offers have been made and the film remains in the development stage, Sorkin has already held meetings with the actors to explore the possibility. The Oscar-winning writer, who received the Academy Award in 2011 for Best Adapted Screenplay, is currently finalising the cast and budget, which he will then submit to Sony Pictures for official approval.
Jeremy Allen White, Emmy winner for The Bear, and Mikey Madison, known for her roles in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Better Things, would bring a fresh perspective to the story — though its focus remains under wraps. What is certain, however, is that Jesse Eisenberg, who portrayed Zuckerberg in the original film, has publicly stated he has no interest in reprising the role.
