Actress Li Gengxi joins Miu Miu as global ambassador, reaffirming her bond with both fashion and cinema.
Li Gengxi, one of the most prominent rising stars in contemporary Chinese cinema, has been appointed Miu Miu’s new global ambassador, further cementing her growing influence in the international fashion world.
At just 24, Li already boasts an impressive career: she made her debut in 2018, and in 2024 became the first “Post-00” generation actress to win Best Actress at the Golden Rooster Awards, thanks to her leading role in the human drama Viva La Vida. This recognition not only confirmed her acting talent but also established her as a cultural reference point for China’s younger generations.
“Miu Miu celebrates Li Gengxi’s avant-garde, versatile and vibrant spirit, whose style resonates with the essence of the brand,” the maison shared in a statement. The actress, for her part, described Miu Miu’s aesthetic as “colourful and full of vitality”, expressing her excitement about exploring fashion as a form of personal expression in this new role as the face of the house.
Prior to this appointment, Li had already collaborated with other prestigious labels such as Celine, where she was dubbed the “princess of rock” for her sharp styling in campaigns and on red carpets. She also serves as an Emerging Ambassador for Chopard, with whom she has appeared at festivals such as Cannes.
Beyond fashion, her acting career continues to rise. She has starred in high-profile productions such as The Long Season (Tencent) and, more recently, Resurrection, a science fiction film directed by Bi Gan and co-starring Shu Qi and Jackson Yee. Premiering at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, the film was awarded the Special Jury Prize.
With more than 6.2 million followers on platforms such as Weibo and Xiaohongshu, Li Gengxi represents a new generation of artists blending art, fashion and contemporary sensibility with a global vision.
