‘Crime 101’ pits Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo against each other in a cat-and-mouse game with the flair of a modern classic.

Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo plunge into a high-stakes criminal chase in ‘Crime 101’, the new psychological thriller from Amazon MGM Studios, which has just unveiled its official trailer. The film, based on Don Winslow’s acclaimed novella, hits cinemas on 13 February 2026 with a stellar cast and a production brimming with adrenaline and tension from the very first frame.

Set along the sun-scorched California coast, the story follows a meticulous and unflappable jewel thief (played by Hemsworth) responsible for a string of high-profile robberies along Highway 101. On the other side, Ruffalo portrays a relentless detective who’s turned the case into a personal obsession. Everything changes when Halle Berry enters the scene as a disillusioned insurance broker drawn into one final, multimillion-dollar heist.

Directed by Bart Layton (American Animals), ‘Crime 101’ channels the style and intensity of films like ‘Heat’, blending intrigue, action and moral dilemmas in a story where nothing is quite as it seems. The supporting cast includes Barry Keoghan, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Monica Barbaro, Corey Hawkins and Nick Nolte, each adding layers of depth to a narrative where the lines between hunter and hunted blur constantly.

With an exclusive theatrical release ahead of its debut on Amazon Prime, ‘Crime 101’ is set to become one of next year’s most stylish and gripping thrillers — a heist, multiple betrayals, and a countdown that can’t be stopped.
