The artist and the legendary filmmaker elevate the format with an unprecedented proposal set to arrive in cinemas on 20 March 2026.

Billie Eilish has just released the first trailer for ‘HIT ME HARD AND SOFT: THE TOUR (LIVE IN 3D)’, the concert film she co-directs with James Cameron — an unexpected creative alliance that promises to completely reimagine the musical experience on the big screen. Conceived as a hybrid between intimate documentary and immersive record of her world tour, the film follows the artist as she presents her album HIT ME HARD AND SOFT around the globe.

The project, as Cameron teases in the preview, uses “technology that has never been used before” to “reinvent the concert experience” in 3D, marking a technical leap that could shape the future of the genre. The film blends live performances with never-before-seen behind-the-scenes material: spontaneous encounters with fans sleeping outside her hotels, studio sessions, and moments that capture the artist’s emotional evolution — including her first performance without her inseparable brother FINNEAS.

The project reinforces Eilish’s ability to expand her creative universes beyond music, embracing a powerful visual narrative and a high-impact cinematic format. After several teasers and months of anticipation, ‘HIT ME HARD AND SOFT: THE TOUR (LIVE IN 3D)’ will arrive in cinemas on 20 March 2026, positioning itself as one of the year’s most ambitious musical releases.
