Universal Pictures has released the official trailer for ‘Disclosure Day’, the new science-fiction event film created and directed by Steven Spielberg, which is expected to become one of the biggest cinematic releases of summer 2026. The film, starring Emily Blunt, explores one of humanity’s most unsettling possibilities: the public confirmation that extraterrestrial life truly exists.

The first trailer introduces a chilling question that defines the tone of the story: “If you discovered we weren’t alone, if someone proved it to you… would it frighten you?” With this premise, ‘Disclosure Day’ imagines the moment when the world receives undeniable proof that humanity is not alone in the universe, triggering a global reaction filled with tension, fear and awe.

The project reunites Steven Spielberg with screenwriter David Koepp, a long-time collaborator responsible for scripts such as ‘Jurassic Park’ and ‘War of the Worlds’. The screenplay is based on an original story by Spielberg himself and is positioned as a major science-fiction cinematic event, continuing the director’s tradition of films that explore the encounter between humanity and the unknown.

The film features an international cast led by Emily Blunt, alongside Colin Firth, Josh O’Connor, Eve Hewson and Colman Domingo. Together, they bring to life a story that blends political thriller elements, human drama and large-scale visual spectacle.

Production is handled by Amblin Entertainment, the historic studio founded by Steven Spielberg, together with producer Kristie Macosko Krieger, a multiple Academy Award nominee.
