The trailer for ‘Euphoria’ season 3 reveals new storylines, theories, the Rosalía mystery and possible deaths in the most intense season yet.

After nearly four years of silence, ‘Euphoria’ is back — and it has done so in the way it knows best: generating conversation even before its release. The new trailer for the third season, starring Zendaya, not only confirms the return of its main characters, but also opens a new narrative chapter that is much darker, more adult and, apparently, unrestrained. If the first two seasons already pushed emotions to the limit, this new instalment seems determined to break every previous expectation.

The preview makes it clear that high school is now part of the past. Rue and the rest of the characters have stepped into adulthood, but that growth does not come with stability — instead, it brings even more intense conflicts. Rue remains trapped in her spiral of self-destruction, with unresolved debts to dealers and a storyline that even places her outside the United States, specifically in Mexico. At the same time, the rest of the group appears to have taken their decisions to a point of no return: Jules adopts a new identity as a sugar baby, Cassie turns her exposure into a business through OnlyFans, and Lexi begins to carve out a path in Hollywood as a writer, potentially marking the start of a new life far from the chaos that defined her adolescence.

Are Rue and Maddy living together?

One of the first moments in the trailer has sparked one of the most unexpected theories. In what seems like an everyday scene, Maddy appears speaking with Rue inside her bedroom, while Rue seems to be under the influence of drugs. What stands out is not only Rue’s situation, but the context: Maddy was not part of her close circle in previous seasons. This has led many to question whether they might be sharing a space, which would imply a complete reshaping of character dynamics.

Nate and Cassie’s marriage… a disaster waiting to happen?

The trailer also confirms something many had anticipated: Nate and Cassie get married. However, far from representing stability, the images suggest the opposite. The relationship appears tense from the beginning, and one detail has not gone unnoticed. When Cassie mentions Maddy, Nate responds in a way that hints his feelings towards her may not be fully resolved. A nuance that could further complicate a relationship already built on cracks.

A darker tone: violence, threats and crime

If anything defines this preview, it is its shift in tone. The images show explicit violence, direct threats and situations that move away from teen drama into territory much closer to a thriller. Rue is not the only one in danger: Nate appears in several sequences being attacked, bleeding and even begging for his life. Everything points to multiple characters becoming involved in criminal storylines, expanding the universe of the series into a riskier space.

Where are Rosalía and Trisha Paytas?

The inclusion of Rosalía and Trisha Paytas was one of the most talked-about announcements for this new season. However, the trailer offers almost no clues about their characters. This absence has only fuelled curiosity further, leaving open questions about how they will fit into an already conflict-heavy narrative.

Will there be a major death?

Although there is no official confirmation, the tone of the trailer has left a shared feeling among fans: someone will not come out of this unscathed. The images of Ali in hospital, Nate completely broken and Rue facing extreme situations suggest a possible tragic turn. It would not be the first time the series takes this route, but it could be the most impactful yet.

The return of the main cast — including Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow and Colman Domingo, alongside the appearance of the late Eric Dane — reinforces the sense that this season will mark either a conclusion or, at the very least, a major turning point for the series.

With a release set for 12 April, everything suggests that ‘Euphoria’ is not returning to continue where it left off, but to take its characters somewhere entirely different.

And, judging by what we’ve seen, not all of them will be ready for it.
