Diesel opens a bold new chapter in beauty with ‘Only Desire’, a fragrance designed to redefine contemporary femininity through freedom, intensity and self-expression.
Diesel has officially entered a new era within its beauty universe with the launch of ‘Only Desire’, the brand’s very first fragrance dedicated exclusively to women. For this major debut, the house has appointed Dove Cameron as its global ambassador, reinforcing a campaign that places female desire at the centre of its visual and cultural narrative.
Rather than portraying desire as something forbidden or restrained, Diesel reimagines it as a creative, emotional and transformative force. Under the manifesto “My Desire. My Power”, the maison builds a message centred around the freedom to express what a woman truly wants without guilt, filters or the need for external validation.
The launch also arrives at a moment when both the luxury and beauty industries are radically redefining their traditional ideas of femininity. According to Diesel creative director Glenn Martens, this new chapter perfectly captures the spirit of the brand through confidence, rebellion and unapologetic self-expression. “The fragrance feels soft, yet leaves a powerful presence,” the designer explained, highlighting the duality Dove Cameron represents between vulnerability and intensity.

The scent itself was developed by master perfumers Nelly Hachem-Ruiz and Paul Guerlain, who reinvented vanilla through a darker and far more experimental lens using what they describe as “Metallic Vanilla”. The composition blends orchids and sustainably sourced Madagascan Bourbon vanilla with metallic aldehydes and amber notes, creating a fragrance designed to leave an intense, warm and deeply sensual trail.
The bottle also plays a central role within the project’s visual identity. Inspired by the shape of an orchid, the design features an oval metallic piercing cutting through the glass, transforming the flacon into a futuristic jewellery object symbolising nonconformity and modern sensuality.
The choice of Dove Cameron as the face of the campaign also feels particularly deliberate. The singer and actress, who first rose to fame through Disney before evolving into one of pop culture’s most compelling alternative voices, embodies this new generation of women prioritising emotional honesty, creative freedom and fluid identity without limitations.
After joining Dua Lipa during part of the ‘Radical Optimism’ tour in 2025, Dove is now preparing for her own global tour scheduled for summer 2026, further cementing her status as one of the most influential cultural figures among Generation Z.
The campaign was directed by filmmaker Amber Grace Johnson and photographed by Harley Weir, embracing an entirely female-led perspective. The final result shows Dove Cameron moving through a surreal universe filled with sculptural orchids, glowing textures and sensory landscapes until she reaches what Diesel describes as “the throne of desire”.
