Lily Collins stars in Inner Voices, Zalando’s Autumn Winter 2026 campaign exploring with humour how outside opinions influence our personal style.

Deciding what to wear before leaving the house can turn into an endless conversation with yourself. Zalando has transformed that everyday experience into the premise of Inner Voices, its new Autumn Winter 2026 campaign, starring Lily Collins, Bella Freud and Nicky Campbell.

The fashion platform starts with a seemingly simple question: what would happen if all those voices that appear in our heads while deciding what to wear suddenly had faces and personalities? The result is a campaign combining fashion, humour and personal identity while reflecting on the countless influences that now shape the way we dress.

At the heart of the campaign is Zalando’s first long-form film, directed by Melina Matsoukas, the two-time Grammy Award-winning filmmaker known for her distinctive visual sensibility.

The story begins with Collins getting ready to leave the house. Standing in front of her wardrobe, she tries on different pieces, reconsiders her choices and enters into the kind of internal negotiation that will feel familiar to almost anyone. Things take an unexpected turn when her thoughts materialise as two characters played by Bella Freud and Nicky Campbell.

Freud takes on the role of a reassuring inner voice, offering fashion advice and encouraging Collins to trust certain choices. Campbell represents almost the complete opposite: his interventions are direct, dry and brutally honest, providing much of the campaign’s comedy.

However, Zalando’s Inner Voices does more than simply make fun of wardrobe indecision. Behind the humour lies a timely reflection on how we construct our image in an era dominated by constant opinions.

Family members, friends, group chats, social media, trends and algorithms can all influence what we consider attractive or appropriate. Never before have so many references been available at once, yet that abundance can also make it more difficult to distinguish between what we genuinely like and what we have been taught to believe we should like.

That is where the campaign’s central message emerges: rediscovering the ability to listen to our own inner voice. Getting dressed is a far more personal act than it might initially appear. The trousers we repeatedly return to, the piece we buy even though nobody else understands it, or the outfit we change just before leaving the house all reveal small decisions connected to our identity.

Lily Collins is particularly well suited to lead this conversation. The actress has maintained a close relationship with the fashion world for years and has become known for her ability to move effortlessly between classic, romantic and contemporary styles. This time, however, the focus is not simply on what she wears, but on the thought process that leads to the final choice.

The involvement of Bella Freud, the British designer known for her distinctive approach to fashion, adds another dimension to the story, while Nicky Campbell’s television personality provides the campaign with its humorous counterpoint.
