Sabrina Carpenter celebrates her first Emmy win as an executive producer of ‘The Muppet Show’, adding another major achievement to her extraordinary career.
Sabrina Carpenter has officially added another major accolade to her growing collection. The 27-year-old singer and actress won her first Emmy Award on Saturday, 5 September, during the first night of the 2026 Creative Arts Emmy Awards, marking a significant new milestone in a career that continues to expand far beyond music.
The award came thanks to The Muppet Show, the Disney+ variety special in which Carpenter appeared on screen while also serving as an executive producer. Although her performance was part of the project, it was her work behind the scenes that ultimately earned her Emmy winner status.
The half-hour production took home Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded), an award presented to its producers and therefore shared by Carpenter. It was not the only success of the evening for the beloved Muppets, as the special emerged as one of the notable winners at the Creative Arts ceremony.
The Muppet Show also secured Emmys for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special, Outstanding Picture Editing for a Variety Special and Outstanding Production Design for a Variety Special. The multiple victories highlighted the creative and technical work behind the Disney+ production, which debuted earlier in 2026.
Matt Vogel was also nominated for his voice performance as Kermit the Frog, competing for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance. However, the award ultimately went to Julie Andrews for her portrayal of Lady Whistledown in Bridgerton.
Carpenter did not attend the following morning without acknowledging the achievement. The pop star took to Instagram Stories to share her excitement and thank the Television Academy while celebrating everyone involved in bringing the project to life.
“Thank you @televisionacad So incredibly proud of the whole muppets crew on our Emmy wins!!!!! A lot of love and happiness and hard work and diva fights went into making this special,” she wrote.
The typically playful message captured both her excitement and the humorous spirit surrounding the production. More importantly, the victory illustrates how Sabrina Carpenter’s career has continued to evolve at remarkable speed, with the performer increasingly moving between music, acting and production.
Her new Emmy Award also creates an intriguing possibility for the future. Carpenter is now another step closer to achieving the prestigious EGOT, the unofficial distinction reserved for artists who have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony.
