The actress and Måneskin frontman have celebrated their wedding after three years together, with several days of festivities in Italy.
Dove Cameron and Damiano David are officially married. The American actress and singer and the frontman of Italian rock band Måneskin celebrated their wedding in spectacular fashion in Tuscany after three years together. The ceremony attracted plenty of attention after the couple announced their engagement earlier this year.
One of the highlights of the celebrations was Dove Cameron’s spectacular bridal look, with a gown designed by Alessandro Michele for Valentino. Just four days before the festivities, Cameron visited the Italian fashion house’s ateliers in Rome for the final fitting of a dress created especially for her.
The gown designed by Alessandro Michele was crafted from silk satin and layers of fluid silk chiffon. The design combined a structured bodice with a long, voluminous train, constructed from successive layers of white chiffon that brought movement to the silhouette.
One of its most striking details appeared at the back. A row of silk-covered buttons ran down the centre of the dress and continued all the way to the end of the train. However, some were deliberately left undone to create a dramatic opening, allowing the fabric to fan out as Cameron walked and creating a spectacular effect.
The singer shared her feelings with Vogue, revealing that the end of her final fitting became one of the most emotional moments of the experience. When she saw herself fully dressed in front of the Valentino team for the first time, Cameron could not hold back her tears. “I have a really hard time feeling like myself in a dress, and I really feel like myself in this,” she said, before calling her mother and grandmother to show them the finished look.
While the gown itself embraced relatively understated elegance, the veil delivered the real statement. Valentino created a four-metre silk tulle veil for the star, entirely hand-embroidered with delicate constellations made from crystals and beads.
Choosing Valentino was no coincidence. Although Cameron admitted that she and Damiano David had underestimated just how intense wedding planning would be, there was one decision she had been certain about from the beginning: she wanted Alessandro Michele to dress her for one of the most important moments of her life.
A civil wedding in the heart of Tuscany
Before wearing her most spectacular gown during the celebrations, Dove Cameron also surprised with an unconventional choice for the civil ceremony. Once again turning to Valentino, she replaced the traditional white wedding dress with a double-breasted jacket with a tie and belt, paired with a long skirt and cape, all in shades of white. Damiano David coordinated his look with his bride in an off-white suit featuring a double-breasted jacket and wide-leg trousers, finished with a gold silk scarf.
The couple said “I do” in Montalcino, in Italy’s Tuscany region and David’s home country. The ceremony took place at the historic Palazzo dei Priori, the former town hall located in Piazza del Popolo, and was officiated by the town’s mayor, Silvio Franceschelli.
The wedding aesthetic remained centred around white and cream tones, with decorations featuring hydrangeas, calla lilies, lilies, candles and draped fabrics. Even the couple’s choice of car followed the same theme: a classic beige Lancia Flavia Vignale convertible, which brought them to the doors of the town hall.
After officially becoming husband and wife, Cameron and David left the building to applause from their guests and the many local residents who had gathered outside. A traditional shower of rice accompanied their exit before the newlyweds kissed on the steps of the town hall.
The celebrations then moved to Castiglion del Bosco, an exclusive estate in the Val d’Orcia surrounded by vineyards, where another highlight was Campo del Drago, the restaurant led by chef Matteo Temperini and awarded two Michelin stars.
The wedding marks a new chapter after three years together for Dove Cameron and Damiano David. The pair crossed paths at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards, although the first rumours of a romance did not emerge until 2023. In February 2024, they made their relationship red-carpet official at Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy gala.
