Heidi Klum shocks Halloween 2026 with a bloodied, prosthetic-covered severed hand costume at her annual New York party.

Heidi Klum has once again proved why she is considered the undisputed queen of Halloween. The 53-year-old German supermodel celebrated the 25th edition of her legendary Halloween party in New York on Saturday, 31 October, and, as always, managed to make her costume one of the most talked-about moments of the night. This time, her transformation was particularly disturbing: a gigantic severed hand, covered in blood and in an advanced state of decomposition.

The celebration took place at Cathédrale restaurant in Manhattan, where Klum arrived completely unrecognisable. Her body was concealed inside an enormous structure replicating her own left hand, with her legs forming two of its fingers and her face emerging between prosthetics designed to resemble torn flesh. The creation featured veins, tendons, red fingernails and open wounds, with a level of realism that was impossible to ignore.

Her entrance was equally unforgettable. A group of attendants dressed in yellow protective hazmat suits, splattered with fake blood, accompanied the model as she made her appearance, reinforcing the atmosphere of a horror film.

Behind the extraordinary transformation were Mike Marino and his team at ProRenFX, longtime collaborators of Klum, who spent months designing and creating the prosthetics.

“I wanted everything to look as realistic as possible: the anatomy, the veins, the muscles and all those little details that make a hand look real,” the model explained to Vogue.

One of the most personal details appeared on the ring finger: a replica of her wedding ring and a tattoo bearing the name of her husband, Tom Kaulitz. The musician was unable to attend the celebration because he was on tour, although Klum wanted to incorporate him symbolically into her costume.

Preparing the outfit required between five and six hours of make-up and prosthetic application, not including the months spent creating it. However, the biggest challenge was carrying its weight throughout the evening. “The hardest part is wearing it, because it’s quite heavy,” the model admitted.
