Mariah Carey stars in Gucci’s new Christmas campaign, directed by Harmony Korine, and celebrates the start of the festive season in New York.

Christmas has one undisputed queen, and once again, Mariah Carey is reclaiming her throne. The American singer, a multiple Grammy Award winner, has officially kicked off the festive season with a new collaboration with Gucci, becoming the face of the Italian fashion house’s Christmas 2026 campaign. The partnership brings together music, fashion and the spirit of a season that has been associated with her voice for decades.

On Monday, 2 November, the singer celebrated the campaign’s launch with an exclusive Christmas cocktail party in New York, bringing guests together to welcome the most magical time of the year. The evening featured a special performance by an a cappella choir, which performed her iconic song All I Want for Christmas Is You, alongside a selection of her greatest hits.

The collaboration sees Mariah Carey take centre stage in a Gucci campaign film, directed by American filmmaker and artist Harmony Korine. The production is set to the soundtrack of her unforgettable Christmas hit, a song that has become an essential part of popular culture since its release in 1994.

Choosing Carey strengthens the connection between Gucci and the entertainment world, bringing on board an artist capable of uniting generations through music and festive aesthetics. Her involvement transforms the campaign into a celebration of glamour, nostalgia and Christmas tradition.

However, the singer has more than just her latest venture into fashion to celebrate. She could also be preparing for another musical battle to reclaim a major record on the American charts.

Her song All I Want for Christmas Is You spent 22 non-consecutive weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 between 2019 and 2025. According to published reports, that record was surpassed this year by Ella Langley, whose track Choosin’ Texas reportedly reached 26 weeks at the top of the chart.
