Hilary Duff confirms she wants to record another album following her musical comeback and is considering replacing traditional tours with concert residencies.

Hilary Duff has no intention of stepping away from music again. After making one of the most highly anticipated pop comebacks of 2026, the 39-year-old singer has confirmed that she wants to record another album and is already thinking about what her future live performances might look like. However, her plans could be very different from the traditional tours that have taken her around the world.

In a new cover interview with Billboard, the artist discussed the future of her career following the release of ‘Luck… or Something’, her first studio album in more than a decade, which arrived last February.

“I want to make another album, one hundred per cent. Now that I’ve reopened that part of my career, I don’t want it to disappear again,” Duff said, making it clear that her comeback is far from a one-off.

Although she has yet to begin working on new material, the singer is also considering releasing a deluxe edition of ‘Luck… or Something’. In addition, she released ‘Holiday Things’ last October, a festive EP featuring three original songs.

Hilary Duff Could Replace Traditional Tours with Concert Residencies

Perhaps the most interesting part of her comments concerns her future live performances. Hilary Duff is considering replacing extensive international tours with concert residencies, a format in which artists perform multiple shows in the same city, following an approach explored by stars such as Harry Styles and Bad Bunny.

“The idea behind doing such an extensive tour this summer was to say hello to everyone who had been waiting for me for so long. I’m not sure it will look like that again. I think it will be more along the lines of what artists are doing with residencies,” she explained.

Her team has also confirmed that it is exploring potential festival appearances in 2027, although no performances have been officially announced.

When Is Hilary Duff Performing in Madrid?

In the meantime, ‘The Lucky Me Tour’ will continue next year, stopping in Madrid on 7 May 2027 for a concert at the Movistar Arena, with Rebecca Black joining as a special guest.

After more than a decade away from releasing new studio albums, Hilary Duff appears to have firmly reclaimed her place in pop music. And while there is still no confirmed release date for her next album, her latest comments suggest that this new chapter in her musical career is only just beginning.
