Striking railway workers invaded the Paris headquarters of LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH) on the eve of a ruling on pension reform in France.

Protesters peacefully made their way to the LVMH headquarters on Avenue Montaigne, where a Louis Vuitton store is also located, to put pressure on the government and take money out of the pockets of billionaires.

The incident is part of the protests against the pension reform, which the Constitutional Council is expected to decide whether it complies with the Constitution. Prior to the demonstration, protesters piled garbage bags in front of the Constitutional Council, announcing the start of a new garbage services strike scheduled to begin with the day’s protest marches.

The leader of the CGT union, Sophie Binet, declared that “the mobilization is far from over” . At a garbage incineration center in southern Paris, hundreds of demonstrators blocked the passage of garbage trucks in protest against the pension reform. Mobilization has decreased since March 7, when between 1.28 million and 3.5 million demonstrators were counted, according to the police and the CGT union, respectively.

On Thursday, authorities expected between 400,000 and 600,000 people to participate in the demonstrations. The Constitutional Council’s ruling on the pension reform is expected on Friday. Meanwhile, protesters continue to pressure the government and companies to take action in support of striking workers and against austerity measures.
