If there’s something I love, it’s reviewing runway shows and collections season after season. Today, I’m here to talk about three specific brands: Givenchy, Diesel, and Carolina Herrera, and their Resort 2024 collections.
Starting with Givenchy, Williams developed his own elevated aesthetic for women’s work/skate/grunge clothing. We’ve seen classic women’s silhouettes with a masculine touch, form-fitting evening dresses, and accessories like Cowboy Shark boots. We saw leopard embossed coats, post-Skim fitted pants, furry jackets, silk serge tailoring, and tougher collarless satin jackets.

Glenn Martens took Diesel to another level, presenting the new collection as fluid products for all genders. The three fundamental pillars of this collection are denim, utility, and pop. We saw denim merged with jersey, leather, or boucle in durable sportswear, easy-to-wear lace dresses, and denim with oily color treatments or stone wash. Misty-colored camouflage appeared on hooded sweatshirts, cargo pants, and other key pieces. “Around 70% of all the denim here is produced through more sustainable processes,” Martens said.

Lastly, with Carolina Herrera, Wes Gordon brought us a runway full of color. We saw floral dresses, ruffles, polka dots, fluid fabrics, and cutouts. Elaborately draped voluminous sleeves resembling flowers stood out. A floral mosaic pattern and herringbone-printed corduroy were notable. In summary, Gordon showed us an elegant yet strong Carolina Herrera, ready to have a good time regardless of the elements.
