Rumors are circulating that the popular BLACKPINK member, Lisa, might be considering leaving YG Entertainment due to persistent issues with her compensation.
Income problems will be a decisive factor in BLACKPINK’s member Lisa’s decision on whether to renew her contract with YG. On July 31st, Deccan Chronicle revealed new information that could influence Lisa’s decision to renew her contract with YG Entertainment this August. The news outlet claimed that Lisa would allegedly leave YG Entertainment due to ongoing income problems.
They also disclosed that despite being the most popular member, she was the least compensated, which prompted her to seek a better-paying management company.
However, the news has not been verified yet, and fans are waiting for responses from YG Entertainment regarding the unequal treatment in terms of their artists’ income.
In the past, a similar case was brought up. Former CLC member, Sorn, revealed she was deeply disappointed with how non-Korean idols were treated in Korea regarding royalty payments. She added that BLACKPINK’s Lisa was under the same treatment.
Sorn explained that due to the incompatibility between Thai and Korean laws, she could only receive a portion of the payment, which was less than what other members received. The rest of Sorn’s payment was withheld by the Korean Music Performance Federation (FKMP). The situation was later resolved after Sorn reached out to FKMP and received her full payment. Fans assumed that Lisa’s situation was also resolved through FKMP.
