Jonathan Anderson of JW Anderson explores the power of the REM cycle in his Spring/Summer 2025 collection at Milan Fashion Week.
Irish designer Jonathan Anderson showcased the JW Anderson Spring/Summer 2025 collection at Milan Fashion Week, inviting attendees to contemplate the power of the REM cycle. The theme was evident from the outset, as guests were gifted t-shirts with the inscription “REAL SLEEP” as an invitation.
The runway venue was transformed into a cozy nocturnal retreat, with flickering lightbulbs and plush fabrics. The ensuing collection reflected these motifs, featuring quilted coats, duvet jackets in cream and pink tones, and oversized bombers.
True to his style, Anderson offered a playful (often exaggerated) take on classic silhouettes, adding a touch of surrealism and artistic influence to pieces like denim dresses, belted shorts, and textured jackets. Texture played a significant role as always, with sheens coating puffy sweaters and ruffles adorning jackets.
Remaining true to his Irish heritage, the designer also presented a series of looks in collaboration with Guinness, resulting in co-branded knitwear pieces.
