Carolina Herrera, Proenza Schouler, Michael Kors, and Anna Sui were among the standout designers at New York Fashion Week 2024.

New York Fashion Week is one of the biggest fashion events of the year, and this year, the collections presented on the New York runways impressed audiences with their new proposals, full of creativity, style, and elegance.

Anna Sui was one of the designers who shone in this latest edition of Fashion Week. Setting her show in a bookstore, her outfits followed that literary inspiration. The looks were filled with various prints and textures, which the designer mixed fearlessly and constantly experimented with. Diamonds were one of the favorite prints, seen on long skirts and high socks, and sequins were present in much of the styling. Additionally, the designer incorporated colorful patches and drawings, decorating bags and pants with a more youthful and retro style. Crochet garments also stood out, giving a hippie vibe to the new collection. As for colors, browns, burgundies, earthy tones, and oranges were the designer’s favorites, though bright colors like silver and gold were also present.

Michael Kors is another brand that never misses this event, and this season, he presented looks full of elegance and sophistication. Fur coats are one of the stars of his new collection, as well as classic prints like tweed and plaid, which are timeless and basic in refined fashion. The collection features neutral colors such as white, black, gray, and pale pink. Finally, stilettos were the standout shoes, complementing most outfits to add that extra touch of elegance.

Proenza Schouler also continued with the theme of elegance but took their outfits a step further by experimenting with shapes more boldly. Asymmetries were a strong point of their show, playing with cuts and imbalances in styling, as well as transparency. They also played a lot with garment shapes, tighter and looser, especially in dresses. While the colors were mostly neutral, the brand incorporated more striking colors like red, gold, and salmon. One of the most innovative pieces was the strappy sandals combined with ballet-style tights, secured at the sole of the foot.

Carolina Herrera added a feminine and romantic touch to Fashion Week with her new collection. In addition to the brand’s characteristic red, purples and pinks also stood out, along with white and black. Delicate fabrics such as tulle and organza completed that feminine aesthetic, as well as floral prints and ruffles. Many of the dresses and skirts featured added volume to give a more interesting and creative touch to the garments. Tailored pants also made an appearance, conveying the class and elegance characteristic of the brand.
